Gin may be best known as a key ingredient in refreshing cocktails, but did you know that it can also be used in cooking? One of our favourite recipes is a plum and sloe gin crumble – a delicious and comforting dessert!

To make this dish, you will need:

– 1kg of plums, halved and stoned

– 200g of sloe gin

– 100g of caster sugar

– 50g of plain flour

– 50g of rolled oats

– 50g of butter, cubed

Preheat your oven to 190C. In a large bowl, mix together the plums, sloe gin, sugar, flour and oats. Tip the mixture into a baking dish and dot with the butter.

Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbling and the topping is golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream or custard, and enjoy!

Why not serve with a little glass of Sloe Gin on the side too? The perfect post-dinner treat!
