Rum…Ham?
Two words that you probably didn’t expect to hear today – Rum Ham. However, it’s a delicious way of cooking a ham if you’re planning an autumnal (Thanksgiving or Festive!) meal. Here’s a great Rum Ham recipe for you:
Ingredients:
– 1 pre-cooked ham (2-3kg will do nicely!)
– 1 cup dark rum (Our Double Dark Rum would be perfect for this!)
– 3/4 cup brown sugar
– 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
– 1 tsp dried thyme
– 1/2 tsp ground cloves
– 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Directions:
1) Preheat the oven to 160 Degrees Celsius.
2) In a small bowl, mix together the rum, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, thyme, cloves and nutmeg.
3) Place the ham in a roasting pan and pour the rum mixture over it, making sure that the ham is evenly coated.
4) Bake the ham for 45 minutes to 1 hour, basting it every 15 minutes or so with the rum mixture.
5) Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 10-15 minutes before carving and serving.
6) Enjoy!
