Singapore Sling Recipe

This month, we’re sharing delicious cocktail recipes with you so that you can treat your festive visitors to an extra special tipple! This recipe is a Singapore sling, a classic gin cocktail that’s been a firm favourite with gin lovers since it was first created in 1915 in the luxurious Raffles Hotel, Singapore by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon. Initially considered a ladies’ drink, because of its pink colour, it’s a beverage that can be enjoyed by everyone!

Ingredients:

– 50ml gin (our London Dry Gin is perfect!)

– 12.5ml cherry brandy liqueur

– 6ml Benedictine liqueur

– 1 fresh lime – squeezed

– 1 teaspoon sugar

– 4 dashes of Angostura bitters

– Club soda

– Crushed ice or cubes of ice

– 1 maraschino cherry

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker, combine the gin, cherry brandy liqueur, Benedictine liqueur, lime juice and sugar. Shake vigorously until all of the ingredients are combined and chilled.
  2. Fill a highball glass with crushed ice, or cubes of ice.
  3. Pour the mixture from the shaker into the glass and top it off with club soda and Angostura bitters.
  4. Garnish with one maraschino cherry.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!
