Best Mai Tai Recipe
With the festive season just around the corner, and parties with family and friends on the horizon, we thought we’d share some delicious cocktail recipes so that you can get your treat your loved ones to something extra special. The first cocktail recipe that we’re going to share with you is a delicious Mai Tai – first developed in Hawaii in the early 50s, it’s a firm favourite with Rum lovers!
Ingredients:
– 50ml rum (our Dark Rum, obviously!)
– 12.5ml orange curacao liqueur
– 1 fresh lime – squeezed
– 1 teaspoon sugar
– 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
– Crushed ice (or cubes, whichever is easier!)
– 2 maraschino cherries
– 1 pineapple wedge or slice
Instructions:
- In a shaker, combine the rum, orange curacao liqueur, lime juice and sugar. Shake vigorously until all of the ingredients are combined and chilled.
- Fill a glass with ice.
- Pour the mixture from the shaker into the glass and top it off with Angostura bitters.
- Garnish with two maraschino cherries and a pineapple wedge or slice.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
